Three Cheap Solar Projects

Solar fountains

Solar fountains offer all the beauty and elegance of any other type of fountain for under $100.
The water will flow when the sky is sunny and cut back when it’s cloudy. You’ll be aware of how much sunshine you are receiving at any given time.
You can locate a solar fountain anywhere, as long as you put the PV panel in sunlight. In order for the fountain to run at night, a battery will be required. Most solar fountains do not come with one and, as a result, only run while the sun is shining.Be aware that the fountain will likely provide different intensities of water movement throughout the day, depending on the strength of the sun’s rays.

Battery Chargers

If you use a lot of batteries, you can drastically cut back on battery costs by using rechargeable batteries in conjunction with a solar charger. And I’m not only talking
about the standard household batteries, either. You can get solar chargers for vehicle batteries, notebook computer batteries, and small appliances. You can find to a wide selection of solar battery chargers for 12V lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries for cameras, iPods, cellphones and PDAs, and AA/AAA, C, D and 9V batteries for other portable electronics.

Landscape Lighting

This is probably the cheapest way to get started using solar power. You can install a single light in a strategic location and get a lot of effect. It takes five
minutes and costs less than $10. 1. Use the lights selectively to direct the eye and create warm, welcoming ambiance:

  • Spot lights are ideal for illuminating specific landscape features such as trees, bushes, statues, fountains, and gazebos.
  • Spot lights and flood lights can create dramatic lighting effects such as uplighting, wall washing, silhouetting, shadowing, and grazing.
  • Garden lighting fixtures highlight the wide variety of textures, shapes, and colors that comprise gardens and flower beds.
  • Garden lights can also be used as decorative elements that enhance the beauty of your landscape or garden.
  • Well lights typically are used for uplighting. They are installed directly into the ground and shine upward.
  • Pond lights are submersible and create dazzling effects from beneath the water’s surface
